| EXPLORATION |
Since the 1980´s more than 430km of water filled caves has
been discovered, massured and mapped in the Riviera Maya ( from
Cancun to Tulum ). With over 1500 cenotes and 90 different cave
systems Yucatan boats the wolrd largest cave diving region.
Indeed it is thought that only one third of the entire complex has
been discovered. Divers are always finding new passages where no-one
( exept prehistoric animals and men) has yet been.
Archeological findings of tools and early mayan pottery, human and
animal bones etc. are not uncommon. On examining a new tunnel, it
is of vital interest to install the guidline, to measureit and to
map out correctly. Of course we don´t want to let unmentioned
this incredible feeling one has on realizing “noone was here
before me!!!!” The thrill of it!!!
Jim Coke, an American, has set about to create a Data bank off all
known and measured caves in the Yucatan.
His QRSS ( .......) gives an exact insight into, and informs about
new findings in the world´s most extensive and important cave
diving region.
